The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan holds a
republican workshop for territorial election commissions on December 7-9 this
year
On December 7-9, 2022, the Central Election Commission is holding a three-day republican workshop for the leadership of all 239 territorial election commissions of the country. About 300 people take part in the workshop. Members of the Central Election Commission are the main speakers.
The purpose of the workshop is to increase the level of professional competencies of election organisers by expanding the theoretical and applied knowledge of electoral legislation and the practice of its application in the electoral process.
Within the workshop, several training modules are being provided: discussion of the work results of election commissions on the preparation and conduct of early Presidential elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held on November 20, 2022; clarification of amendments and additions to the electoral legislation, in particular the introduction of mixed and majoritarian electoral systems, election campaigning in social networks, accreditation of public associations and non-profit organisations for election observation, as well as non-state funding of elections. Moreover, the workshop will provide training on communication methods and skills of interaction among members of election commissions and political parties, observers, representatives of the media, non-governmental organisations and other participants of the electoral process.
