CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov met with IPA CIS delegation
On November 19, Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with a delegation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly headed by Monitoring Group Coordinator, Vice Speaker of the Lower House of the Tajik Parliament Dilrabo Mansuri.
The CEC Chairman presented to the delegation members the results of the main stages of the electoral campaign, information on registered presidential candidates, the number of voters and polling stations in the country, the organisation of voting abroad and the results of accreditation of international observers.
In turn, IPA CIS Observer Group Coordinator Dilrabo Mansouri spoke about the composition of the group, the specifics of long-term observation, the geography of observation, and also stressed that the Mission members are guided by the principles laid down in the Convention on Standards for Democratic Elections of the CIS Member States: political neutrality, impartiality, non-interference in the internal affairs of the state. Members of the delegation showed interest in the conduct of the election campaign stage, in particular, the number of violations of the law during this period, as well as the specifics of conducting public opinion polls on election day.
Representatives of the IPA CIS noted that this year they were participating in the observation of the electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the second time, and also noted the high level of organisation of the electoral process.
