CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov met with a delegation from the
Commonwealth of Independent States
On November 18, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov met with the delegation of the Commonwealth of Independent States – one of the largest missions, which includes short-term and long-term observers who have extensive experience in observing the electoral process. When observing elections, members of the Mission strictly adhere to non-interference in the electoral process. The Mission of CIS observers is headed by Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
On November 16 this year the interim report of the CIS observers’ mission on the course of monitoring the preparation of early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was published.
During the meeting, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov presented to the members of the Mission the features of the main stages of the electoral campaign, in particular, the results of the nomination and registration of presidential candidates, the course of the election campaign. Nurlan Abdirov also informed the members of the delegation about the number of voters and polling stations in the country, the results of accreditation of international observers for the elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In turn, the CIS representatives expressed their gratitude for the information provided and wished the CEC members success in holding the elections.
The meeting was followed by a briefing by the CIS Mission, where members of the Mission answered questions from the media.
