CEC Chairman Nurlan Abdirov met with a delegation of the Shanghai 

Cooperation Organization

On November 18, Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with a delegation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization headed by Head of Mission Zhang Ming. 

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission presented to the delegation members the results of the main stages of the electoral campaign, information on registered presidential candidates, and also noted that today the stage of pre-election campaign ends, and tomorrow, on November 19, the day of silence begins. 

Members of the delegation asked clarifying questions about the stages of nomination and registration of candidates, and also noted the high level of organisation of the electoral process. 

Within the meeting, Nurlan Abdirov also informed the SCO representatives about the number of voters and polling stations, the results of accreditation of international observers for the presidential elections. 

The SCO representatives expressed gratitude for the information provided and noted that this year they are participating in the observation of the electoral process in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the second time. 

The meeting was followed by a briefing by the SCO Mission for media representatives, at which the Mission members answered questions from the media.
