A meeting between the Chairman of the Central Election Commission and 

the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee was held

On October 27, 2022, a meeting between Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Ilhom Nematov was held as part of the opening of the CIS Observer Mission for the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

The meeting was attended by member of the Central Election Commission Shavkhat Utemissov, as well as Head of the Headquarters of the CIS Observer Mission Yevgeny Kozyak and member of the Mission Headquarters Oleg Kuleba.

During the meeting, Nurlan Abdirov welcomed the opening of the CIS Observer Mission and briefed the interlocutors on the main stages of preparation and conduct of the electoral campaign.  

In turn, Ilhom Nematov informed that the CIS Observer Mission will be headed by Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev. He also noted that the Mission activities will be carried out in strict accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on the generally recognised principles and norms of international law in the field of organisation and conduct of elections.
