On October 22, 2022, the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a
training workshop for representatives of the campaign headquarters of
presidential candidates
On October 22, 2022, as part of the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for November 20, 2022, the Central Election Commission held a training workshop for representatives of the campaign headquarters of presidential candidates.
The main speakers at the workshop were members of the Central Election Commission Sabila Mustafina, Anastassiya Schegortsova, head of the budget planning and execution department of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulnaz Kembayeva, representatives of the branch of Halyk Bank JSC in Astana Zhanar Rakhimova, Zhaniya Dosbayeva, as well as head of the financial and economic department of the State Administration Akim’s Office of Astana Ainagul Iksan.
The issues on the procedure and amount of funds allocated from the republican budget for the speeches of presidential candidates in the media, the formation of electoral funds of candidates, the provision of reports on the use of electoral fund funds after the establishment of the election results, as well as the obligations of candidates to ensure openness and transparency of all monetary transactions and procedures were explained in detail to the participants of the workshop.
Representatives of election headquarters got acquainted with the legal conditions for conducting the election campaign of candidates, including through the media, by holding public election events, issuing and distributing printed, audiovisual and other campaign materials.
Legal responsibility of candidates in case of violations of the electoral legislation by them in terms of the formation and spending of election funds, as well as election campaigning were also clarified.
The speakers of the workshop gave comprehensive answers to all questions of interest to the representatives of the headquarters of the candidates in the framework of the electoral campaign.
The next workshop of the Central Election Commission is planned for representatives of political parties, other public associations and non-profit organisations on the implementation of national election observation, which will be held at the site of the NGO Academy on October 27, 2022.
