Meeting of the Central Election Commission was held on registration of
K. Abden as a candidate for President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On October 19, 2022, a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of Nurlan Abdirov on the issue of registering Karakat Abden as a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Member of the Central Election Commission Shavkat Utemissov made a report on the agenda item. He said that on October 8, 2022, documents on the nomination of a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan were submitted to the Central Election Commission from the “National Alliance of Professional Social Workers” Republican Public Association. To register a candidate, the following documents were also submitted to the Central Election Commission:
- certificate of the state revenue authority on the submission of asset and liability declarations by presidential candidate K. Abden and her spouse;
- medical report on the absence of diseases preventing registration of presidential candidate K. Abden;
- protocols of territorial election commissions of regions, cities of republican significance and the capital of the Republic on the results of verification of the collected signatures of citizens in support of presidential candidate K. Abden.
According to these protocols, authorised persons in support of presidential candidate K. Abden collected signatures from 121,314 citizens in 15 regions of Kazakhstan. As a result of the verification, the reliability of 118,418 signatures was established, that is, the required number – at least 1% of the total number of voters or 118,273, was provided.
All documents required for registration of presidential candidate K. Abden were submitted to the Central Election Commission and fully comply with the requirements for them.
By a resolution of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karakat Abden was registered as a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for November 20, 2022; she was issued an appropriate certificate.
Following the meeting of the Central Election Commission, a briefing was held with the participation of media representatives.
