The Central Election Commission suspended the procedure for
establishing the compliance of candidate for the President of the Republic
of Kazakhstan N. Altayev
On October 12, 2022, a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held under the chairmanship of Nurlan Abdirov, which was attended by representatives of state bodies, the media; members of territorial election commissions of regions, cities of republican significance and the capital participated via videoconference.
The meeting considered the issue of establishing the compliance of candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Altayev.
Member of the Central Election Commission Shavkat Utemissov made a report on the agenda item. He said that in relation to candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Altayev the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the requirements of Article 59 of the Constitutional Act on Elections sent relevant requests to the authorised state bodies. According to the information received from them, there are no obstacles for Nurzhan Altayev to register as a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Thus, according to the data of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurzhan Altayev complies with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Act “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan” for candidates for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nurzhan Altayev is a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan by birth, has lived in Kazakhstan for the last 44 years;
The Agency for Civil Service Affairs, he has 5 years 2 months experience in the civil service;
The Ministry of Justice, the “MUQALMAS” Republican Public Association, which nominated a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has a document on registration with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the conclusion of the linguistic commission dated October 11, 2022, he is fluent in the state language.
He has a higher education (verification was made with the original diploma).
However, on October 11, 2022, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan received a ruling from the court of the Baikonyr district of Astana dated October 11, 2022, on suspension of the protocol of the general meeting of the “MUQALMAS” RPA No. 19 dated October 6, 2022, on nominating a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Based on the ruling of the court, as well as in accordance with paragraph 3 of Art. 76 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the establishment of compliance of candidate Nurzhan Altayev was suspended by the Central Election Commission.
Following the meeting of the Central Election Commission, a briefing was held with the participation of representatives of the media, at which members of the CEC answered questions from the media.
