ANNOUNCEMENT
On October 11, 2022, a meeting of the Linguistic Commission was held at the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish fluency in the state language of Nurzhan Altayev.
The linguistic exam was held in three stages: writing an assignment, reading an excerpt from a work of classical Kazakh literature, and public speaking on a chosen topic.
After passing the exam, the commission held a collegiate discussion and summed up the results.
The results of the meeting were announced by Chairman of the Linguistic Commission, Doctor of Philology, Professor Adil Akhmetov.
The written task was on the topic “The idea of a unified Alash.” The work was judged on content, style, spelling and punctuation. In the second task, the candidate read an excerpt from Ilyas Yessenberlin’s novel “The Nomads.” The third task was a 15-minute presentation on the topic “Legacy of our Forefathers.”
Based on the results of the exam, the Linguistic Commission by an open vote decided that Nurzhan Altayev, a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is fluent in the state language.
