ANNOUNCEMENT
Polish citizen Balli Mazhets has repeatedly applied to the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a statement of her intention to run as a candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In this regard, the citizen of Poland received an explanation of the norms of the current legislation in terms of the requirements imposed by the Constitution and the Constitutional Act “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan” to the candidate for the President of the Republic.
The Central Election Commission informs that in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a citizen of the Republic by birth, not younger than forty years old, fluent in the state language, living in Kazakhstan for the last fifteen years and having a higher education can be elected President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Constitutional Act may establish additional requirements for candidates for the President of the Republic.
The Central Election Commission also informs that, in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 54 of the Constitutional Act “On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” in order to be elected President, a citizen shall have at least 5 years of experience in public service or in elected public positions, and also have an active suffrage.
