Meetings with International Observers were Held at the Central Referendum Commission

On May 25, 2022, in the morning, Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission Nurlan Abdirov met with Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Referendum Assessment Mission Tamas Meszerics.

The meeting was attended by CRC Deputy Chairman Konstantin Petrov, CRC Secretary Mukhtar Yerman, CRC members Anastassiya Shchegortsova, Assylbek Smagulov, as well as members of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission.

Nurlan Abdirov greeted the members of the OSCE/ODIHR Referendum Assessment Mission, who had recently arrived in Nur-Sultan, and briefed the Mission members on the main stages of preparation and conduct of the referendum.

The Head of the Mission, Mr. Tamas Meszerics, thanked the Kazakh side for the reception and introduced the members of the Mission.

The parties agreed on active cooperation during the entire period of observation of the referendum.

In the afternoon, a meeting of the members of the Central Referendum Commission with a group of observers from the CIS IPA was held online.

The Chairman of the Central Referendum Commission briefed the CIS IPA observers on the main stages of the current referendum campaign.

In turn, Secretary General – Head of the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council Dmitry Kobitsky thanked the Central Commission for organising and holding the meeting. Representatives of the CIS IPA, taking advantage of the opportunity, asked various questions regarding the preparation and holding of the republican referendum.

At the end of the meeting, the parties wished mutual success in organising and holding the referendum and monitoring it.
