Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov met with the EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kestutis Jankauskas

On April 22, 2022, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Abdirov met with the Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan Kestutis Jankauskas.

The meeting was attended by Secretary of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerman Mukhtar and Deputy Ambassador Maciej Madalinski.

During the meeting, the Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed the EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan about the activities of the Central Election Commission, new approaches to implementing the policy of openness, expanding cooperation with participants in the electoral process, as well as representatives of the international community.

Special emphasis was placed on the Message of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the people of Kazakhstan "New Kazakhstan: The Path of Renewal and Modernization" dated March 16, 2022, in particular, on the modernization of the electoral system.

Also, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas was familiarized with the format of meetings of the Central Election Commission leadership with the public in the regions, the experience of conducting online surveys among young people on key issues of the electoral process, the functionality of the Internet resource of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue a constructive dialogue and expand cooperation between the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EU Delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan, exchange of experience and information, study of the best practice for holding elections in the EU countries and holding joint events.
