The electoral authorities of Kazakhstan held a set of events for the Global Elections Day
The Global Elections Day was established at the General Conference of Electoral Organizers in September 2005 in Budapest and is celebrated annually on the first Thursday of February.
It is the second year since the CEC has become a good tradition of holding events to improve electoral culture among young people. The “Young Voter Week” has started in all regions according to the calendar plan of the territorial election commissions for electoral and legal education for 2022.
The main goal is to form an active civic position among young people, to cultivate respect for democratic values, to realize the importance of elections and responsibility for their choice, to instill skills for active participation in the electoral process.
As part of the “Young Voter Week” and the Open Doors Day thematic classroom hours, essay contests, business games, round tables, meetings of members of territorial election commissions with representatives of youth organizations were held in schools, colleges and universities.
In the framework of elections for self-government bodies future voters elected school presidents, chairmen of college youth committees. Competitions were held among students for the best video on the topic “Every vote matters!” and for the best essay “I am a future candidate”.
