CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies
On October 29, 2021, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the 18th European Conference of Electoral Management Bodies on the topic "Lessons Learned from the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Electoral Processes" via video conferencing.
The event was traditionally organized by the European Commission for Democracy through Law of the Council of Europe (Venice Commission).
During the conference the law enforcement practice of electoral bodies for managing electoral processes, conditions for holding elections in emergency situations, practical consequences of elections during a pandemic and crisis situations as well as issues of voter turnout and the use of alternative voting methods were considered.
The conference was attended by the following international organizations and institutions: Council of Europe, Venice Commission, OSCE/ODIHR, International Foundation for Electoral Systems, the IIMDD IPA CIS as well as representatives of bodies responsible for organizing elections in Albania, Armenia, Hungary, Georgia, Colombia, Mexico , Romania, Estonia and etc.
The Venice Commission of the Council of Europe together with the Central Electoral bodies of European states holds conferences on various aspects and stages of the electoral process annually during which the Republic of Kazakhstan takes an active part.
