A group of international observers of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in observing presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan
On October 24, 2021, a group of international observers of the Republic of Kazakhstan headed by the Deputy Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Konstantin Petrov took part in observing presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, Deputy Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Konstantin Petrov took part in a meeting with the leadership of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan as well as in their briefing on preparation and conduct of presidential elections. Konstantin Petrov also took part in Council of Coordinators meeting of the of the CIS Observer Mission during which the Mission's Statement on results of observing, preparation and holding of elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was concluded in the framework of a press conference following the results of the work of the Mission.
Representatives of Kazakh delegation monitored elections in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez as part of the Observer Mission from the CIS, SCO, Turkic Council, OSCE/ODIHR. At the same time, representatives of the territorial election commissions of the Republic of Kazakhstan monitored over 180 polling stations in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan and 6 regions of Uzbekistan. As international observers, representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in meetings with representatives of election commissions of the regions of Uzbekistan, observed opening of polling stations, course of voting, counting of votes and summing up the election results.
It should be also noted that 37 observers from the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in observation of the elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.30 of them – as part of the CIS Observer Mission; 2 representatives each – at the invitation of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as part of the SCO Observer Mission, the Turkic Council; 1 – as part of the OSCE ODIHR Election Observation Mission.
