The chairmen of the election commissions of the Almaty and Kostanay regions took part in election observation in Georgia
The chairmen of the election commissions of the Almaty and Kostanay regions, Timur Dautov and Alexander Malashko took part in observing the local elections in Georgia which took place on October 2, 2021 at the invitation of the Central Election Commission of Georgia.
Representatives of the election commissions of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in a meeting with the Chairman and members of the CEC of Georgia during the observation of the elections. The meeting was devoted to preparation and conduct of elections.
Timur Dautov and Alexander Malashko monitored the opening of polling stations on election day as well as the course of voting, vote counting and tabulation of election results in the cities of Tbilisi and Mtskhet.
Local elections were held in Georgia on October 2, 2021. Georgian citizens elected deputies to city and district assemblies, as well as mayors of 64 municipalities, including Tbilisi. City and district assemblies in Georgia are staffed according to a mixed system: proportional and majority.
According to preliminary data, the second round of mayoral elections will take place in 20 out of 64 municipalities, including in five large cities - Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Poti and Rustavi where none of the candidates has overcome the 50 percent barrier. Voting is scheduled for October 30, 2021.
