Meeting of Central Election Commission on results of regular elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament
of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VII convocation
On January 12, 2021, meeting on results of regular elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VII convocation and distribution of deputy mandates of the Mazhilis of the Parliament based on results of voting on party lists was held at Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Deputy Chairman of Central Election Commission Konstantin Petrov made a report. He stated that votes of voters for political parties that nominated party lists of candidates for deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament were distributed as follows:
- People's Party of Kazakhstan - 659,019 votes or 9.10 percent;
- Nur Otan party - 5,148,074 votes or 71.09 percent;
- People's Democratic Party "Auyl" - 383,023 votes or 5.29 percent;
- Democratic Party of Kazakhstan "Ak Zhol" - 792,828 votes or 10.95 percent;
- "ADAL" political party - 258 618 votes or 3.57 percent.
Thus, 3 political parties have overcome the 7% barrier:
- Democratic Party of Kazakhstan "Ak Zhol";
- People's Party of Kazakhstan;
- "Nur Otan" party.
These parties are admitted to distribution of mandates.
The distribution of deputy mandates is carried out in accordance with Article 97-1 of the Constitutional Act on Elections of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is as follows:
- Democratic Party of Kazakhstan "Ak Zhol" - 12 seats;
- People's Party of Kazakhstan - 10 mandates;
- Nur Otan party - 76 seats.
Results of elections of deputies of the Mazhilis, elected by the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, are as follows:
Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov - 298 votes or 84.90 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Avetik Amirkhanyan - 270 votes or 76.92 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Ilyas Bularov - 274 votes or 78.06 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Natalya Dementyeva - 292 votes or 83.19 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Yuri Lee - 282 votes or 80.34 percent of the voters who took part in the voting;
Vakil Nabiyev - 285 votes or 81.19 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Shamil Ossin - 271 votes or 77.20 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Vladimir Tokhtasunov - 277 votes or 78.91 percent of voters who took part in the voting;
Abilfas Khamedov - 290 votes or 82.62 percent of voters who took part in the voting.
Following the meeting of Central Election Commission, protocols on results of elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, elected by party lists, as well as from the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and resolution of the Central Election Commission “On results of regular elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the VII convocation and deputy mandates of the Mazhilis of the Parliament based on the results of voting on party lists” were adopted.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Berik Imashev noted that elections are an important state political event and also thanked organizers of elections for their work, international and national observers for their assistance in ensuring transparency and openness of electoral process, and voters for their active civil position.
