Meeting of the members of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Observer Mission from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization
As part of the campaign for the election of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on January 9, 2021, meeting of members of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Observer Mission from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization took place.
For the first time in September 2004, representatives of the SCO Observer Mission were invited to the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since then, this area of cooperation has been gradually developing and has a positive impact on promotion of democratic reforms in the SCO space. Since 2004, the SCO has formed 54 Observer Missions, 11 of which are in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the SCO Mission informed that since the arrival of the Mission's representatives in Kazakhstan, work is underway to monitor the current election campaign in the capital of Kazakhstan and in other settlements of the country.
During the meeting, members of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed the observers from the SCO Mission with the specifics of the current election campaign, its stages and the course of preparation for the election day.
Following the meeting, briefing with media representatives was held.
