Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with a group of observers from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly

On December 23, 2020, members of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan) met in an online format with a group of observers from the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) under the leadership of Kobitsky D. A, Secretary General - Head of the Council Secretariat of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.

The meeting was opened by Berik Imashev, who welcomed the observers from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and noted the holding of such meetings online is a real necessity during the coronavirus pandemic. Further, the Chairman of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan acquainted observers from the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly with the main stages of the current electoral campaign for the regular elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In turn, Secretary General - Head of the Council Secretariat of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly Dmitry Kobitsky thanked the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan for organizing and holding the meeting. The representatives of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly took the opportunity to ask various questions regarding the preparation and conduct of the current elections.

At the end of the meeting, the parties wished mutual success in organizing and holding elections and observing them.
