INFORMATION STATEMENT
On conducting public opinion polls related to elections
In accordance with the requirements of clause 9 of Article 28 of the Constitutional Act "On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan" public opinion polls related to elections may be conducted by legal entities registered in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan having at least five years of experience in conducting public opinion polls by notifying the Central Election Commission of this in writing in advance with copies of the relevant documents attached.
The notification submitted to the Central Election Commission shall contain information on specialists taking part in the survey and having experience in this area, regions in which public opinion polls will be conducted and methods of analysis used.
When publishing results of public opinion polls related to elections, media must indicate the legal entity that conducted the survey, persons who ordered the survey and paid for it, time of the survey, method of collecting information, exact wording of the question, number of respondents and the error rate of the survey results.
Results of public opinion polls, forecasts of election results and other studies related to elections, voting in support of candidates or political parties are not allowed to be published on the Internet within five days before voting day (January 4-9, 2021) and on voting day (January 10, 2021).
Violation of conditions for conducting public opinion poll related to elections shall be the basis for bringing a person to administrative responsibility (Article 120 of the Administrative Code).
