Meeting of Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Konstantin Petrov with delegation of independent observers from USA
On June 7, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting between Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Konstantin Petrov and the delegation of independent observers from the United States, led by Daniel A. Witt.
At the meeting, the Deputy Chairperson informed about the current preparations for the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for June 9, 2019, and also informed that the election campaigning ends today, i.e. June 7th at 00:00.
The head of the American delegation thanked the Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission for the meeting, and also noted the rapid mobilization of all resources for the upcoming election.
The US delegation of independent observers was interested in such issues as conducting debates, public opinion polls and publishing their results. In addition, members of the delegation showed interest in Kazakhstan’s approximate estimates on the voter turnout on election day and whether there are concerns about foreign interference in the electoral process this year.
At the end of the meeting, both sides wished each other success in their work.
