Working visit of Member of the Central Election Commission B. Meldeshov to Mangystau Oblast

On May 30, 2019, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Meldeshov, visited 13 polling stations in the city of Aktau and Munayli District during a working visit to Mangystau Oblast to get acquainted with the preparations for the election. All election commissions are provided with teaching materials, necessary equipment, communications, Internet. The preparations for the election in the region are being held properly in accordance with the Calendar Plan, and the voter lists were transferred to the precinct election commissions by relevant akims.

On May 30, B. Meldeshov conducted a training workshop for election officials, themed “Activities of election commissions during the preparation and conduct of the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for June 9, 2019”.

The event was attended by members of territorial and precinct election commissions, certified electoral trainers via videoconferencing, representatives of local executive and law enforcement agencies, courts, and international and local observers. In total, 500 people took part in the event.

During the workshop, B. Meldeshov informed on each stage of the election campaign, the main powers and duties of election officials in accordance with the legislation. He also dwelled on the organization of electoral training for members of election commissions of Mangystau Oblast using the cascade method and the method of distance learning and testing.

The head of the Akim's Office of Mangystau Oblast, N. Tazhibayev, informed about the work with the voter lists, and Deputy Chairperson of the Oblast Territorial Election Commission, I. Saginbayev, briefed on the measures taken for unimpeded voting of citizens with disabilities.

Chairperson of the Mangystau Oblast Election Commission A. Rzakhanov reported on the preparations for the election in the region and the training of members of election commissions.

Chief Consultant of the Central Election Commission B. Darmurzina dwelled on some aspects of the activities of election commissions. The audience was shown a training film on the work of precinct commissions on the election day, prepared by the Central Election Commission.

At the end of the event, an exchange of views on the issues under consideration was held, and answers to questions were given.
