Pre-election debates and discussions took place live on Khabar TV channel on May 29
On May 29, 2019, the pre-election debates and discussions took place live on the Khabar TV channel.
The TV debates were attended by four candidates for the Presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Amangeldy Taspikhov, the candidate from the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, Amirzhan Kossanov - from the national-patriotic movement “Ult Tagdyry”, Sadi-Bek Tugel - from the republican public association “Uly Dala Kyrandary”, Zhambyl Akhmetbekov - from the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan, as well as Maulen Ashimbayev – the representative from the Nur Otan party, Ali Bektayev - from the Auyl party and Azat Peruashev - from the Ak Zhol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan.
According to the regulations approved by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the TV debates and discussions were divided into 3 rounds.
The topic of the first round is “Priorities of the economic development of Kazakhstan”.
The first round of the pre-election television debates and discussions had two tours. In the first tour, each participant took the floor to present his election program. The second tour was held in the form of a question and answer discussion session among the participants. The participants asked two questions to their counterparts, as well as answered two questions posed.
The topic of the second round is “Social modernization of Kazakhstan”. The second round also consisted of two rounds. In the first tour of the second round, the participants spoke on a given topic. In the second tour, the host asked one question to all participants.
The topic of the third round is “Address to voters”. In the third and final round, the participants directly addressed voters.
All procedures defined in the regulations were followed. The participants were provided with equal opportunities and conditions to speak. The compliance with the regulations and the general course of the studio debates was observed by a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazzat Suleimen.
