Working visit of CEC member B. Meldeshov to Kyzylorda Oblast

On May 20, 2019, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Meldeshov, visited 19 polling stations in the city of Kyzylorda and the Syrdarya District during a working visit to Kyzylorda Oblast for reviewing the preparations for the elections. All the election commissions have been provided with teaching materials, necessary equipment, communications, Internet. Magnifying glasses have been purchased and information materials have been made in Braille for the needs of citizens with disabilities. The preparations for the election in the region are carried out in proper manner in accordance with the Calendar Plan, the voter lists are transferred by the relevant akims to the precinct election commissions.

On May 21, B. Meldeshov conducted a training workshop for election organizers “Activities of election commissions during the preparation and conduct of the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for June 9, 2019”.

The event was attended by members of territorial and precinct election commissions, certified election trainers in the form of videoconferencing and representatives of the branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, local executive and law enforcement agencies, the court, as well as local observers.

During the workshop, B. Meldeshov informed on each stage of the election campaign, the main powers and duties of the election organizers in accordance with the legislation. He also dwelled on the organization of electoral training for members of election commissions of Kyzylorda Oblast using the cascade method and the method of distance learning and testing.

Head of Akim’s Office of Kyzylorda Oblast M. Delmukhanov informed about the work done to compile voter lists, and Deputy Head of the Department of Employment Coordination and Social Programs A. Yeskarayev briefed on the measures taken to provide conditions for unimpeded voting of citizens with disabilities.

Chairperson of the Kyzylorda Oblast Election Commission A. Zhunissov informed about the preparations for the election in the region and the training for members of election commissions.

Chief consultant of the CEC Office, B. Darmurzin, dwelt on some aspects of the activities of election commissions. The audience was shown a training film on the work of precinct commissions on the election day, prepared by the Central Election Commission.

At the end of the event, an exchange of views on the issues under consideration was held and answers to the questions were given.
