Meeting of Chairperson of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan B. Imashev with First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, Executive Secretary of the CIS, V. Guminsky
On May 20, 2019, a meeting was held between B. Imashev, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and V. Guminsky, the CIS Executive Secretary, First Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was also attended by CEC Deputy Chairperson K. Petrov and member of the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan Z. Baimoldina.
In the framework of the meeting, B. Imashev informed V. Guminsky about all stages of the electoral campaign: nomination, registration, election campaigning, election day, as well as regarding the amendments to the Constitutional Act on Elections made in 2017-2018.
In turn, V. Guminsky thanked B. Imashev for organizing the meeting and informed about the methods and principles of observation by the CIS Observation Mission.
“After our meeting, from this day forth, the CIS Mission of Observers will stay in Kazakhstan and will begin long-term observation of the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” V. Guminsky informed.
It should be noted that the CIS Mission observers have a great experience in observing the elections in Kazakhstan, including the elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. More than 700 CIS Mission observers took part in the observation of the previous two election campaigns in Kazakhstan in 2015–2016.
