On May 8, 2019, there was a meeting of Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, B. Imashev, and members of the Central Election Commission with Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, Urszula Gacek, and representatives of the Mission
Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Berik Imashev briefed about all stages of the campaign and actions of the electoral authorities from April 10 to June 9 of the current year.
The meeting addressed such issues as the calendar plan of the main activities for the preparation for the early election of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the main stages of the campaign: nomination, registration, election campaigning, and also election day.
Representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Mission were informed about the main changes in the electoral legislation made in 2017–2018, including new provisions on election campaigning, campaign financing, etc.
The country's commitment to conduct elections, based on the principles of openness, transparency, fairness and competitiveness, was emphasized.
