The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting of the linguistic commission to establish fluency of Amirzhan Kossanov in the state language

On April 29, 2019, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting of the linguistic commission to establish fluency of amirzhan Kossanov in the state language, a nominee from the Public Association “Ult Tagdyry” Association Of National Patriotic Movement.

The linguistic examination had all three stages: a written assignment on a topic, reading a printed text and public speaking for at least fifteen minutes on a topic given by the linguistic commission. After the examination, there was a discussion and debriefing by the linguistic commission. The meeting was attended by a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lyazzat Suleimen.

Mass media had the opportunity to attend the beginning of the examination and learn about the results of the examination immediately after the debriefing. Chairman of the linguistic commission, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of Turkish Studies Department of L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University Myrzatai Zholdasbekov voiced the results of the meeting.

The writing task was on the topic: “Commonwealth of Independent States – history and today.” The written work was evaluated on the content, style, spelling and punctuation. Peculiarity of the written task was deepness of content, the subject matter of work was fully disclosed.

As for the second assignment, the applicant read an excerpt from the poems collection by Qadyr Myrza Ali complying with the norms of pronunciation.

The third task was a 15-minute speech on the topic “People who have knowledge of the art.” The speech was fluent and deep, phrasing was well stated.

The Chairman of the commission noted that the applicant passed all tasks very well. The level of fluency of the applicant in the state language is high.

The linguistic commission, by open vote, unanimously decided that the candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Amirzhan Kossanov, is fluent in the state language
