A Meeting of the Linguistic Commission was Held at the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 23, 2019

A meeting of the linguistic commission to identify fluency in the state language of Tokayev Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich was held at the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on April 23, 2019.

The linguistic exam was conducted in all three stages: writing of a written assignment on a topic, reading of a printed text and public speaking on a topic given by the linguistic commission for at least fifteen minutes. After passing the exam, a discussion and summing up of results by the linguistic commission took place.

The work of the commission was carried out openly and publicly, and the media were able to observe the decision-making process. Member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lyazzat Suleimen attended the meeting.

The topic of the written work was “The Poetry and Prose of Abai Kunanbayev.” Deep knowledge of art of Abay and his works was traced in the content of the written work. The written work was evaluated on the content, style, spelling and punctuation. The topic of the written work was fully disclosed.

In the second assignment the candidate emotionally, expressively, correctly intonating read an excerpt from “Mynbulak” collection of stories and novels by Sherkhan Murtaza.

The third task was a 15-minute speech on the topic “Geopolitics of modern Kazakhstan.” The candidate fully disclosed this topic, spoke in a good literary language, competently building sentences and his thoughts.

According to the results of the exam, the linguistic commission, by open vote, unanimously decided that candidate for the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich, is fluent in the state language.
