PRESS RELEASE

On October 17, 2005 the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. O.I. Zhumabekov met with Mr. Odri Glover, Ambassador, Head of ODIHR/OSCE Election.
Mr. Jonathan Stonestreet, Election Advisor, Lubomir Kopai, Chief Relations Coordinator, Mr. Oleksiy Lichkovakh, Election System Analyst, and Mr. Yeno Tszep, Electronic Voting Expert have also taken part in that meeting.

Participants have discussed issues related to activities performed by the long-term Mission, presented its major composition as well as were introduced to election campaign legislative basis.

The Head of the Mission noted that it was an introductory visit to establish tight cooperation of international observers with the Central Election Commission.

Mr. Chairman told that election commissions of all the levels would provide all possible assistance to the representatives of the Mission in terms of organizing effective and objective observation of the election campaign and provide with all required information for their work.
