At the Central election commission was formed a Public Council on the information disputes at extraordinary election of the deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament and regular elections of Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan
On July, 19th 2007 at the Central election commission was formed a Public Council on the information disputes at extraordinary election of the deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament and regular election of the deputies of Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan and approved the Decree on it.
According to this Decree the Council is a consultative deliberative body, in its staff were included the representatives of the Central election commission, Ministry of Culture and Information, representatives of political Parties in the Central election commission with deliberative suffrage. The main aim of the Council is review of information disputes concerning violation of the norms of the Constitution and election legislation during the election campaign.
During the briefing the Head of the Central election commission said that the Central election commission enforces the Rules of the electioneering through the mass media and information maintenance of elections by all participators of the election process.
In this regard Mr Turgankulov drew attention of the mass media to the inadmissibility of the spread of campaign materials containing ideas of forcible change of the Constitutional system, the integrity of the Republic, undermining state security, inciting social, racial, national, religious, sectarian and ethnic strife, the cult of cruelty and violence, also the creation of illegal paramilitary groups.
Also the Head of the Central election commission noted that in the case of submitting to election commissions appeals and complaints of the persons whose image was used in the campaign materials without their agreement, the Public Council on information disputes must make decisions on them in accordance with the norms of the election legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Political Parties while submitting campaign materials to the mass media must observe their accordance with the demands of the Constitution and election legislation”- stressed the Chairman of the Central election commission.
