On July, 23d 2007 it was finished the registration of the candidates for the deputies of Maslikhats of the republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the preliminary information submitted to the Central election commission by July, 24th 2007 from 9128 candidates for the deputies of Maslikhats were registered 8744 persons.
Among them: 1609 candidates for the deputies of oblast, cities Astana and Almaty Maslikhats; 5344 candidates for the deputies of regional Maslikhats; 1791 candidates for the deputies of city Maslikhats.
Average competition in the country is 2.6 candidates for one deputy mandate.
And at election of the deputies of oblast, cities Astana and Almaty Maslikhats the competition is on average 2.9 candidates for one mandate, at election of the deputies of regional Maslikhats is 2.5; and at election of the deputies of city Maslikhats is 2.9 candidates for one deputy mandate.
From the present day all registered candidates may start their election campaigns.
Also today the Central election commission established that the number of election bulletins for production and delivery to the polling-stations for extraordinary election of the deputies of Mazhilis of the Parliament is 8896173, and for regular election of the deputies of Maslikhats - 16664704.
The present number is established by the Central election commission according to the submitted data on voters to the election commissions by July, 1st 2007 and included provided by the election legislation the reserve of 1% of the total number of voters in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is continuing the accreditation of the observers of the foreign states and international organizations. Today the Central election commission has accredited 24 more observers of the CIS Mission, 10 observers of Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS and 4 observers of the state Malaysia.
In all by the moment it has been accredited 262 observers of the foreign states and international organizations.
The Head of the Central election commission informed the representatives of the mass media that by the Central election commission together with the Civil alliance of Kazakhstan it will be realized the republican action “Your choice – your future”. The aims of this action are dissemination of the information about the future elections among the general population and appeal the citizens to come to the polling-station. The action will be in all regions of the country.
The Central election commission appealed all public and nongovernmental organizations to join this action and expressed willingness to cooperate in the implementation of specific proposals for effective election campaign and increase voter turnout.
