Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan met US Ambassador, Permanent Representative to OSCE Ms. Julie Finley
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Kuandyk Turgankulov met US Ambassador, Permanent Representative to OSCE Ms. Julie Finley upon her request. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. John Ordway and officials of the US Embassy also took part at the meeting.
In the course of meeting Kuandyk Turgankulov and Julie Finley exchanged opinions on the outcomes of pre-term elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan as well as on the work for further development of Kazakhtani electoral legislation.
“In the course of preparation of the draft law on amendments to electoral legislation the Central Election Commission takes into consideration recommendations of international organizations, including OSCE ODIHR, Kazakhstani non-governmental organizations and political parties as well as of other participants of electoral process. Today we draft this package of proposals. After receipt of Final Report of OSCE on the outcomes of observation of parliamentary elections, incorporated to this report observations and recommendations will be also taken into consideration”,- underlined Chairman of the Central Election Commission.
In conclusion of the meeting Ms. Finley positively assessed practice of the Republic of Kazakhstan in conduction of democratic, well-balanced elections.
