Central Election Commission carried out training on organization and conduction of election campaign at elections of deputies of the Senate of Parliament
On 14 August 2008 года training on organization and conduction of election campaign at elections of Senate deputies, appointed by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 4 October 2008, was carried out in Almaty at which participants of electoral process took part.
The training was organized by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of realization of joint project of CEC and UNDP in Kazakhstan titled «Development of Electoral Culture in Population».
The goal of this event was in discussion of procedural questions for organization and conduction of the forthcoming election.
Deputies of Almaty City Maslikhat, Chairman, Secretary and members of territorial election commission of Almaty City, representatives of courts, prosecutor office, law enforcement bodies, tax committee, political parties, public associations, noncommercial organizations, media as well as nominated candidates to Senate deputies and their proxies were invited to take part in training.
Training participants discussed questions of coordination of joint actions of territorial election commission, state bodies and participants of electoral process on ensuring observance of norms of the electoral legislation at all stages of election campaign.
There was an exchange of opinions on issues directly related to realization by Almaty City Election Commission of its authorities on registration of candidates to Senate deputies and their proxies, preparation of polling stations, organization of voting, vote count, tabulation and on other procedural aspects of election administration.
Also training on procedures for conduction of joint session of electors at the election of deputies of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place.
“The main objective of election bodies is to ensure strict observance of provisions of the electoral legislation at all stages of election campaign as well as to create conditions for realization by all participants of the electoral process of their constitutional rights”, - noted member of the CEC Ms. T. Okhlopkova, while summarizing the outcomes of the training.
