On 8 December 2011, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan registered the party list of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “AK ZHOL”
On 8 December 2011, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan registered the party list of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “AK ZHOL”, which includes 63 candidates for deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The registered candidates of the DPK “AK ZHOL” represent four different ethnic groups.
Around 15% of the candidates are women.
Some a half of the candidates, included in the party list are persons under the age of 55 years. The youngest of them is 26 years old.
All the candidates have got a higher education. About 35% of them are lawyers or economists by education. More than 25% are specialists in various branches of national economy.
More than a half of candidates of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “AK ZHOL” are members of commercial entities.
The list also includes science, culture and education workers, as well as those from state bodies and institutions.
The process of nomination of candidates for deputies of maslikhats has considerably increased.
According to the data coming to the Central Election Commission, as of 8 December 2011, there are 3056 candidates for deputies of maslikhats nominated.
Of these, 300 candidates to oblast maslikhats, including 25 persons to the Astana maslikhat and 37 persons to the Almaty maslikhat; 2252 candidates to district maslikhats and 504 candidates to city maslikhats.
Of the nominated candidates there are 830 members of the People’s Democratic Party “Nur Otan”; 17 members of the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan; 12 members of the Democratic Party of Kazakhstan “AK ZHOL”; 7 members of the Kazakhstani Social Democratic Party “Auyl”; 3 members of the Party of Patriots of Kazakhstan and 1 member of the Nationwide Social Democratic Party.
812 candidates have not specified their party affiliation. 1374 candidates are independent. 39 persons were registered as candidates for deputies of maslikhats.
