PREPARATIONS FOR THE KURULTAI ELECTIONS:

716 POLLING STATIONS AND MORE THAN 4,000 ELECTION 

COMMISSION MEMBERS READY IN KOSTANAY REGION

On the eve of the elections of deputies of the Kurultai, CEC member Mikhail Bortnik visited polling stations in Kostanay region and held working meetings, paying attention to the organization of the electoral process and the preparation of commissions.

During the visit, the CEC representative reviewed the voting arrangements, the technical and logistical facilities, and the organization of work at the polling stations. At working meetings with representatives of government agencies, territorial and precinct commissions, topical issues of preparation for the elections and interaction on election day were discussed.

In Kostanay region, 716 polling stations have been prepared for the upcoming elections to the Kurultai. All of them are equipped with ballot boxes and voting booths, and the necessary conditions have been created for voters with disabilities and observers.

Since the beginning of August, 4,310 members of election commissions have started work. Their preparation for voting includes clarifying voter lists, informing citizens, issuing absentee voting certificates, as well as checking the readiness of premises and conditions for all voters. 

According to the Chairman of the territorial election commission of Kostanay region, the training of members of district and precinct election commissions has been completed. All of them passed the test, confirming the required level of preparation for work during the voting period.

During the on-site inspection, Mikhail Bortnik got acquainted with the organization of the work of Polling Stations No. 548, 881 in Kostanay district, as well as No. 21, 53, 60 and 879 in the city of Kostanay.

Following the inspections, the CEC member noted that at the final stage of preparation, it is important to ensure that polling stations are ready in all areas, from organizational procedures and logistical equipment to creating comfortable conditions for every voter.

"On election day, it is the precinct commissions that are in direct contact with voters. Therefore, it is important that every commission member carefully follows the established procedures, acts in accordance with the law, and works transparently. This will help ensure that citizens’ electoral rights are respected and that equal conditions are provided for all participants in the voting process," - Mikhail Bortnik concluded.

During the visit, a working meeting was also held with the participation of the regional leadership, representatives of law enforcement agencies and chairmen of territorial election commissions.

At the event, government agencies informed about measures to ensure the region's readiness for the upcoming elections, public order on election day, fire safety at polling stations, as well as uninterrupted power supply and Internet connection.

540,179 voters will be able to participate in the upcoming elections in Kostanay region. Among them are about 4,062 people with disabilities and about 3,980 citizens who are exercising their right to vote for the first time.
