POLLING STATIONS ARE BEING ESTABLISHED IN 

ROTATIONAL WORK CAMPS IN ATYRAU REGION

In order to check the preparations for the elections of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for August 23, 2026, on August 13-14, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Shavkhat Utemissov and member of the Central Election Commission Azamat Aimanakumov visited Atyrau region on an inspection trip.

Special attention was paid to the activities of polling stations established in accordance with recent amendments to the electoral legislation. They relate to ensuring the electoral rights of citizens working on a rotational basis.

Two such new polling stations have been established for voters in Atyrau region. The first is on the territory of the Samal rotational work camp of the Bolashak Bolashak Oil and Gas Processing Plant operated by NCOC. The second is located at the Kaspiy Samaly rotational work camp of Zhylyoimunaigas at the Prorva oil field. Shavkhat Utemissov and Azamat Aimanakumov got acquainted with the readiness level of Polling Station No. 288, located in the town of Samal.

One of the main objectives of the inspection group was also to familiarize with the process of training members of election commissions. In this regard, representatives of the CEC participated in a training seminar. The action plan for the preparation and conduct of elections, changes in electoral legislation and issues of effective use of artificial intelligence tools were discussed with members of the regional, city and district territorial election commissions, as well as the precinct election commissions of Atyrau. In order to improve the practical skills of the participants, work was carried out with cases and necessary documentation.

On the second day of the trip, a working meeting was held with the participation of representatives of relevant state and law enforcement agencies, chairmen of territorial election commissions. It was also attended by international observers from the OSCE/ODIHR mission. During the meeting, reports from government agencies on the region's readiness for elections, ensuring fire safety, and creating comfortable conditions for people with disabilities were heard.

As part of the inspection trip, representatives of the Central Election Commission visited precinct election commissions No. 275, 285, 90, and 262 in Atyrau.

As a result of the inspection visit, the main issues of organizing elections, the readiness of election commissions, ensuring citizens' electoral rights, public safety and creating the necessary conditions at polling stations on election day were additionally worked out.
