REVIEWED PREPARATIONS FOR THE ELECTION 

AT POLLING STATIONS IN ULYTAU REGION

On August 10-11, 2026, Azamat Aimanakumov, a member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made an inspection visit to Ulytau region to review preparations for the election of deputies of the Kurultai and assess the work of territorial and precinct election commissions.

As part of the working visit, he visited polling stations in the cities of Zhezkazgan and Satpayev and met with representatives of government bodies as well as chairpersons of territorial and precinct election commissions.

On the first day of the visit, the CEC member visited Polling Stations No. 1, 12, and 22 in Zhezkazgan. Particular attention was paid to the organization of polling station operations, the training of commission members, and material and technical facilities.

On the second day, Azamat Aimanakumov chaired a meeting attended by representatives of the local executive body, the prosecutor’s office, internal affairs bodies, the Department of Emergency Situations, social protection authorities, and other government agencies of Ulytau region. During the meeting, representatives of the relevant government bodies presented information on preparations for the elections and planned activities. Azamat Aimanakumov instructed those responsible to ensure that the elections are conducted in strict compliance with electoral legislation, with particular attention to creating the necessary conditions for all participants in the electoral process at polling stations and ensuring their accessibility for persons with disabilities.

Particular attention was also paid to ensuring the electoral rights of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are unable to visit a polling station on election day. This may be due to their health condition, caring for an ill family member, or living in remote and hard-to-reach areas where no polling stations have been established. In such cases, citizens must be provided with an opportunity to cast their ballots outside the polling station. The CEC member also drew the meeting participants’ attention to the fact that during the summer period, some citizens are away on vacation. Therefore, it is important to continue providing voters with comprehensive information on the procedure for obtaining absentee voting certificates.

A training seminar for members of precinct election commissions was held at Polling Station No. 57 in Satpayev. Participants worked through practice-oriented cases, discussing questions and situations that commission members may encounter directly at polling stations. As part of the inspection, the training of election commission members and their level of knowledge of electoral legislation were assessed.

The seminar participants were briefed on the specific features of the election of deputies of the Kurultai and discussed the development of electoral law under the new constitutional framework.

Following the visit, the CEC member emphasized the importance of further improving the professional training of election commissions and ensuring the readiness of polling stations.
