CEC members continue inspection visits to polling stations across the
country's regions
Secretary of the Central Election Commission Shavkhat Utemissov reviewed the preparations at polling stations in the city of Alatau, which has special status, and in the city of Konayev, Almaty Region. During his inspection visit, he toured several polling stations and took part in a training seminar for members of precinct election commissions.
In addition, the CEC Secretary held a meeting with representatives of regional government agencies. The Chairperson of the Almaty Regional Territorial Election Commission, as well as heads of local executive and law enforcement bodies, reported on the ongoing preparations for the elections.
“Online services are now being launched to enable citizens to quickly locate their polling stations. Additional online services will also allow voters to cast their ballots if, for some reason, they are not registered anywhere. Call centers have been established in all regions. All of this information must be readily accessible to the public, so it is essential to ensure that all voters are properly informed about the available services. At the same time, training for members of precinct election commissions will continue, along with efforts to create the necessary conditions for voters, observers, and media representatives. It is also important to fully safeguard the electoral rights of persons with disabilities,” - Shavkhat Utemisыov told the meeting participants.
A total of 695 election commissions, comprising more than 4,800 members, are operating in the Almaty Region to administer the elections of Kurultai deputies.
CEC member Azamat Aimanakumov also inspected polling stations in the Abai Region. He reviewed the work of precinct election commissions in the city of Semey and the Zhana Semey District. He also took part in a training seminar organized for members of precinct election commissions. During the meetings, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of systematically informing voters and ensuring appropriate conditions for voters, authorized representatives, observers, and members of the media.
Information on the region’s preparations for the upcoming elections of Kurultai deputies was presented at a meeting attended by representatives of regional government agencies. Azamat Aimanakumov emphasized to the participants the importance of conducting the elections in strict compliance with electoral legislation.
It should be noted that, as part of the current election campaign, 618 election commissions are operating across the region, with approximately 4,000 members involved.
