THE CENTRAL ELECTION COMMISSION HELD
A TRAINING SEMINAR FOR MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES
Today, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an online seminar for media representatives on issues related to the preparation and conduct of the election of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for August 23, 2026.
The seminar was attended by approximately 200 representatives of regional media outlets and around 150 representatives of national media outlets. The event was organized in accordance with the Plan for the Training of Election Commission Members and Other Participants in the Electoral Process, approved by Resolution No. 26/52 of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 1, 2026.
Opening the seminar, Secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shavkhat Utemissov emphasized the important role of mass media in ensuring the openness and transparency of the electoral process, as well as in providing citizens with objective, timely, and comprehensive information on the course of the election campaign.
During the seminar, Member of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azamat Aimanakumov provided explanations on the specifics of the preparation and conduct of the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the main stages of the election campaign.
In turn, CEC member Lyazzat Suyindik spoke about the specifics of information support for the elections, the conduct of election campaigning, the rights and responsibilities of media representatives, as well as the legal aspects of interaction between election commissions and the mass media.
In addition, representative of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mikhail Komissarov delivered a report on the specifics and practical aspects of information and campaign activities during the election period.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants received answers to their questions from members of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and invited experts.
This seminar is part of a comprehensive set of measures aimed at providing electoral training for participants in the electoral process during the preparation and conduct of the election of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
