CEC REGISTED THE PARTY LIST OF THE “ADILET” PARTY
A meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held today in Astana as part of the election campaign for deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The meeting was chaired by Nurlan Abdirov.
The meeting was attended by the leadership of the public association “Adilet Party,” international observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministries of Finance, Internal Affairs and Justice, as well as representatives of the media. In addition, the chairpersons and members of the territorial election commissions of the capital, the regions and the cities of republican significance joined the meeting via videoconference.
In accordance with the agenda, the Commission considered the registration of the party list submitted by the Public Association “Adilet Party.” Presenting the report, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mukhtar Yerman noted that the party had submitted to the Central Election Commission the relevant package of documents concerning the nomination of its party list for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also outlined the main requirements imposed on candidates by the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections.
“Under Article 89 of the Constitutional Law on Elections, only one list from each political party may be registered. The combined share of representatives from three categories - women, young people and persons with disabilities - must constitute at least 30% of the party list. The party list of the Public Association ‘Adilet Party’ includes 186 people. Of these, 88 candidates are women, young people or persons with disabilities, representing 47.3% of the total. The quota established by law has therefore been met. Together with the authorised state bodies, the Central Election Commission verified that the candidates complied with the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections. All persons included in the party list meet the established requirements,” Mukhtar Yerman concluded.
In addition, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission noted that the public association “Adilet Party” had paid the electoral deposit for all persons included in its party list.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the members of the Central Election Commission signed the relevant protocols and adopted a resolution to register the party list of the Public Association “Adilet Party” for the election of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for 23 August 2026. The registered candidates were issued the relevant certificates.
Following the meeting, the party leadership answered questions from media representatives during the traditional press briefing.
