On 2 November Chairman of the Central Election Commission Onalsyn Zhumabekov met with the ODIHR/OSCE Media Expert Marek Mracek.
      The Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that Kazakhstan was fully open to OSCE partners and hoped that the Mission would provide the objective evaluation of the election process in Kazakhstan.
     Particular attention during the meeting was drawn to discussions regarding the electoral legislation and status of media in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Chairman Zhumabekov informed the OSCE representative on developments in Presidential Election campaign and provided clarifications on a number of issues related to activities of the media on providing coverage of the upcoming elections. Mr. Mracek informed the   Chairman of the Central Election Commission about the establishment of the media monitoring group as well as methodology used by OSCE experts in this activity.
    The OSCE Media Expert was provided with information materials of the Central Election Commission along with reference materials about activities of Kazakhstan media on providing coverage of the election campaign.
