On December 4, 2005 the Presidential elections took place in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Based on the minutes of the Oblast, Astana and Almaty Election Commissions on the results of head counts for the Presidential Elections, the Central Election Commission informs that 8,949,199 citizens have been included to the electoral registers for the nation-wide electoral district, 6,871,571 of them participated in the voting, or 76.78 percent. 246,197 citizens voted out of the voting facilities.
There were five candidates to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
When voting for the candidates to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the distribution of votes was as follows:
In Akmola Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 1,697 votes, or 0.43 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 5,450 votes, or 1.39 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 1,018 votes, or 0.26 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 370,023 votes, or 94.66 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Zharmakhan Aitbaevich Tuyakbai received 12,699 votes, or 3.25 percent of those who participated in the elections;

In Aktobe Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 978 votes, or 0.30 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 5,722 votes, or 1.73 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 986 votes, or 0.30 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 309,297 votes, or 93.32 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Zharmakhan Aitbaevich Tuyakbai received 14,457 votes, or 4.36 percent of those who participated in the elections;

In Almaty Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 1,808 votes, or 0.24 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 7,543 votes, or 1.00 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 1,579 votes, or 0.21 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 717,831 votes, or 94.87 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Zharmakhan Aitbaevich Tuyakbai received 27,860 votes, or 3.68 percent of those who participated in the elections;

In Atyrau Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 702 votes, or 0.39 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 3,238 votes, or 1.78 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 456 votes, or 0.25 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 156,264 votes, or 86.14 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Zharmakhan Aitbaevich Tuyakbai received 20,748 votes, or 11.44 percent of those who participated in the elections;

In East Kazakhstan Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 3,189 votes, or 0.48 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 10,391 votes, or 1.57 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 2,092 votes, or 0.32 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 596,449 votes, or 90.33 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Zharmakhan Aitbaevich Tuyakbai received 48,156 votes, or 7.29 percent of those who participated in the elections;

In Jambyl Oblast:
Erasyl Abylkasymov received 897 votes, or 0.22 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Alikhan Mukhamedyevich Baimenov received 3,489 votes, or 0.86 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Mels Khamzayevich Eleusizov received 731 votes, or 0.18 percent of those who participated in the elections;
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev received 376,482 votes, or 92.53 percent of those who participated in the elections;

Pursuant to Article 65 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, On Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, born in 1940, Kazakh, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, living in Astana, is considered as elected President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
