On the results of by-election of deputies of maslikhats, held on 30 October 2016
In accordance with the election legislation on 30 October 2016 in 10 regions of the republic by-election of 30 deputies of maslikhats was held.
10 oblast, 6 city, 17 district, 30 constituency and 160 precinct election commissions were involved in the organization and conduct of by-election.
A total of 101 candidates took part in election campaign. 16 of them ran to oblast, 35 – to city and 50 – to district maslikhats.
31 contesters were nominated by political parties, 70 – by means of self-nomination.
Constituency election commissions have registered 96 persons as candidates to deputies of maslikhats.
Names of 92 candidates were included in the ballot papers.
The average competition rate was about 3 contesters per one deputy seat.
On 30 October the voting was held, which was conducted in 160 polling stations.
The voter turnout was 79.6 %.
According to the results of voting 4 deputies of oblast, 10 deputies of city and 16 deputies of district maslikhats were elected.
396 proxies of candidates, representatives of political parties, public associations and media monitored the process of voting and the procedure of vote count.
Among elected deputies of maslikhats there were 29 (96.67 %) men and 1 (3.33%) woman.
The average age was 45 years.
The youngest deputy (24 years) was elected in electoral district No. 6 of Syrym district of West-Kazakhstan oblast. The oldest deputy (63 years) was elected in electoral district No. 30 of Karagandy city.
96.67 % of elected deputies have higher education, 3.33 % - secondary special education.
40 % work in state institutions, organizations and enterprises, 53.3 % - in private organizations, 6.7 % - workers of political parties and NGOs.
The election campaign was held in compliance with the requirements of election legislation.
Complaints and appeals by the Central Election Commission were not filed.
