Working visit of CEC Secretary S. Mustafina to Akmola Oblast

On May 17, 2019, during a working visit to Akmola Oblast, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Sabila Mustafina held a training workshop for election organizers “Activities of election commissions during the preparation and conduct of the early elections of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for June 9, 2019”.

The workshop was attended by members of territorial and precinct election commissions, certified electoral trainers and representatives of the branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and representatives of local executive bodies.

During the workshop, S. Mustafina briefed its participants on changes in the electoral legislation, the main stages of the election campaign, the conditions for electoral campaigning of candidates, the powers of election commissions to prepare and conduct elections, the tasks of territorial election commissions and local executive bodies to ensure the rights of citizens with disabilities.

In addition, the workshop covered in detail issues of financial support for the election campaign and the electoral training for members of election commissions of Akmola Oblast using the cascade method and the method of distance learning and testing.

Head of Akim’s Office of Akmola Oblast B. Gais reported on the work done to compile voter lists, measures taken for the material and technical equipment of polling stations, including the provision of conditions for persons with disabilities.

Chairperson of the Oblast Election Commission M. Saduov informed about the current situation in the election campaign, and the preparation of polling stations for the day of voting.

Certified electoral trainer V. Pytieva elaborated on the activities of election commissions both during the preparation stage and on the day of voting.

During the workshop, participants were also shown a training film on the work of precinct commissions on election day, prepared by the Central Election Commission.

As a result of the seminar, an exchange of views took place and the organization of the work of election commissions was discussed.

On the same day, a meeting was held between S. Mustafina and chairpersons of youth committees for higher and secondary educational institutions.

In the course of the meeting, issues of youth participation in the electoral process, improving the legal culture and electoral activity of young voters were discussed.
