Staff training for Election Commissions of Nur-Sultan Started
On April 27, 2019, a training workshop for members of the territorial election commissions and heads of precinct election commissions of Nur-Sultan was held at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The workshop was organized by the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Territorial Election Commission of Nur-Sultan. The training seminar was held in full-time format and completes the distance learning phase of the election organizers, conducted by the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan among election organizers throughout the country.
The training was carried out by experts in electoral legislation and organizers of electoral processes who have significant experience in conducting previous elections: Chairman of TEC V.V.Redkokashin, TEC ex-secretary V.P.Pytyeva.
During the workshop, matters related to changes in the electoral legislation made in 2017 and 2018 and specifics of the organization and conduct of the presidential election were covered.
The program included practical and lecture classes on the work of election commissions, the procedure for voting and tabulation of election results, liability for violating election laws, and interaction with public observers and media representatives.
During the training, special attention was paid to the issues of the behavior of the members of election commissions in working with voters on election day, resolution of possible conflict situations. The workshop participants consolidated their knowledge by practicing practical skills during the business game “Election Day of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
Rector of the Academy of Public Administration A.A.Akhmetov, TEC Chairman V.N.Redkokashin, representative of the Electoral Training Department of the Central Election Commission T.Zh. Ryspekov took part in the workshop opening.
40 representatives of the capital’s election commissions of all levels pass training and will receive certificates upon completion.
This May, a number of training workshops are scheduled for members of precinct election commissions. The trained members of election commissions will continue to train members of lower level commissions in accordance with the cascade method.
